The Life and Times of Victorians Home Workshops The Life and Times of Victorians Key Stages 1 & 2 75-minute facilitated session Cost: £130 per class (up to 32 pupils) This interactive workshop uses role play, costumes and handling objects to compare past and present. Pupils will experience a day in the life of Queen Victoria and her servants and discover how everyday chores were carried out such as washing clothes, cleaning carpets and emptying the Queen’s chamber pot! Pupils will also be able to see and play with Victorian toys and learn about the games that children would have played. Teacher notes: This workshop is ideal for Key Stage 1 pupils and Years 3 & 4. The workshop can also be tailored to focusing solely on Victorian Toys which would be more suited for Year 1 pupils. Make learning outside of the classroom more accessible with our travel bursary scheme, funded through Arts Council England and the Department of Education. If so, you could qualify for a travel bursary of up to £250 per visit*, to support the costs of transport when visiting the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum and Coventry Transport Museum with your pupils. How to qualify: The travel bursary only applies to schools who book two learning sessions with us for the same group of pupils. This could include booking two sessions to take part at either the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum or Coventry Transport Museum, or combined across the two museums. Your school must have more than 20% of your children qualifying for pupil premium.
