Stories in Art Home Workshops Stories in Art Key Stages 1 & 2 90-minute facilitated session Cost: £130 per class (up to 32 pupils) In this interactive workshop children will explore how paintings and other artefacts can communicate stories. Pupils will be encouraged to develop their imaginations as they translate the image to the spoken word. As they are introduced to the characters and plots of traditional myths and legends, pupils will have an opportunity to demonstrate their acting skills through performing in the gallery. Children will also have the opportunity to improve their own drawing skills as they are encouraged to make their own sketches in response to the artworks. Make learning outside of the classroom more accessible with our travel bursary scheme, funded through Arts Council England and the Department of Education. If so, you could qualify for a travel bursary of up to £250 per visit*, to support the costs of transport when visiting the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum and Coventry Transport Museum with your pupils. How to qualify: The travel bursary only applies to schools who book two learning sessions with us for the same group of pupils. This could include booking two sessions to take part at either the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum or Coventry Transport Museum, or combined across the two museums. Your school must have more than 20% of your children qualifying for pupil premium.
